Sue Kilp Biography May/07
Upon completing her four-year commitment with the United States Air Force, Sue Kilp began her studies at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center- College Of Nursing. Sue began her professional career managing, directing and developing child, adolescent and adult inpatient/outpatient psychiatric treatment programs.
Upon completion of a Master’s of Science degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from UT-Health Science Center in Houston, Sue pursued a career in private practice as a psychotherapist, consultant and professional speaker. She trained in a broad range of therapeutic techniques including, traditional and brief dynamic psychotherapy, play, group and family therapy, clinical hypnotherapy, breath and energy work and holistic healthcare. She also volunteered with the Houston Area Women's Center in their Rape Crisis, Family Violence and Speaker's Bureau Programs.
A swim with the dolphins while in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was an occurrence that gave her added insight into how nature and animals influence our health and well-being. Sue and her family relocated to Western Australia where she practiced on a pro bono basis. She became interested in the correlation between the intellect of the mind, individual spirituality and physical and emotional well-being. This led her to pursue advanced studies in spiritual and metaphysical philosophies. Her experience in Australia inspired her to expand her practice perspective to include mind, body and spirit integration and management. This would later create the "seedlings" that would lead her to start a holistic and integrative private practice upon her relocation back to the USA.
